POSITION PURPOSE

This role is accountable for conceiving, organizing, promoting, managing and monitoring effective programmatic Provider Network operations initiatives. The ideal candidate understands the driving forces behind operations and can drive multiple, interrelated projects ensuring interdependencies and potential conflicts are managed, mitigated or escalated appropriately. They will develop a methodology to manage and monitor project and program strategies by owning the portfolio of assigned Health Services projects along with creating project dashboards to monitor the status and risks associated with each. They will lead weekly or monthly status meetings as needed and will engage with appropriate stakeholders to drive each strategy while mitigating any associated risk. This role will work closely with leadership and key resources to align deliverables to the desired outcome for each project or program. They will own and maintain project and program documentation such as progress reports and dashboards, timelines, decision matrixes and project life cycle records.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Healthcare or other relevant degree with a strong background in program or project management required

  • Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Work Experience

  • 4 years of healthcare experience, within a clinical, payer or vendor setting required

  • Demonstrated experience as a project manager required. Prefer experience as a project manager of large, complex and interrelated operational programs.

  • Experience utilizing lean six sigma green belt tools and/or techniques in a health care, business office, business operational area and/or related environment preferred.

  • Experience training, developing and coaching staff preferred.

  • Experience may run concurrently.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of project and program management methodologies.

  • Ability to create and maintain tracking, risk assessment and other project life cycle documents.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.

  • Proficient computer skills, working knowledge of various Microsoft office software applications, particularly Word, Excel and PPT.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with physicians, operations, and corporate divisions to drive change in ambiguous situations.

  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to coordinate program activities and staff.

  • Excellent judgment, group facilitation, decision making, and delegation skills.

  • Knowledge of operational processes, data and workflows.

  • Must be self-directed with the ability to work independently, set project priorities, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Must be able to work proficiently in a fast-paced demanding environment.

  • Ability to travel within the state of Louisiana.

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.

Licenses and Certifications

  • PMI certification preferred

  • Lean Six Sigma methodology training preferred. Lean Six Sigma methodology training must be attained within 24 months of hire.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification must be attained within 24 months in position.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Accountable for conceiving, organizing, promoting, managing and monitoring effective programmatic Health Services operations initiatives, projects and programs.

  • Manage multiple interrelated projects, setting program controls and standards around each.

  • Develop a methodology to manage and monitor projects and program strategies by owning the portfolio of assigned Health Services operations projects

  • Create and maintain various documents and dashboards to manage the lifecycle of each project and program including, but not limited to progress reports and dashboards, timelines, decision matrixes, risk impact assessment and management and other project life cycle records.

  • Lead weekly or monthly status meetings with key stakeholders to ensure an outcomes-focused plan of action.

  • Manage day-to-day detailed aspects of multiple projects.

  • Establishes timelines for deliverables and ensures effective progression towards goals.

  • Identify potential project risks along with opportunities to mitigate them. Being innovative in solving problems.

  • Track and report progress against project milestones and deliverables to ensure effective scope, acceptable timing, maximum benefit and quality delivery.

  • Leads assigned strategic initiatives ensuring program goals are achieved within budgetary, time, and organizational parameters, setting objectives to maximize ROI.

  • Conducts verification and needs assessment of project deliverables.

  • Meets with leadership and appropriate personnel to identify the project`s goals, objectives, critical success factors and measures.

  • Develop and maintain “lessons-learned” inputs to the project repository for utilization on future programs initiated by the enterprise.

  • Required to present, educate, train and facilitate at all levels and to external audiences.

  • Evaluates and revises training materials and supporting tools as needed.

  • Teaches and coaches standardized work development, documentation, training, adherence, improvement and management.

  • Constantly seeks to identify, share and facilitate adoption of best practices to eliminate waste and improve performance.
