POSITION PURPOSE

This position will support the development of Direct Marketing acquisition and retention strategies to grow and retain our customer portfolios for BCBSLA’s Individual Commercial and Government programs. Accountable for complying with all laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities.

NATURE AND SCOPE

  • This role reports to this job: Director, Direct Marketing Strategy

Necessary Contacts: In order to effectively fulfill this position, the incumbent must be in contact with:

Internal: Marketing & Sales Division, Government Programs, Health Informatics, Information Governance and Privacy, IT, Project Management Office, Customer Service, and Compliance departments

External: Direct Marketing agencies, data and analysis vendors, call centers and other companies that partner with BCBSLA to create and deliver direct marketing tactics.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's in ISDS, Marketing, Economics, Applied Statistics is required

  • Master's in MBA is preferred

  • Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Work Experience

  • 4 years in one of the following: database marketing, business analytics, or project experience requiring multi-tasking, managing timelines and deliverables is required

  • Healthcare or health insurance experience is preferred

  • Experience with Medicare or Medicaid is preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Must have excellent project management skills, analytical thinking, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Includes ability to interpret and translate marketing strategies and basic technical concepts into information that is meaningful to project team members and/or business personnel.

  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and assignments; strong organizational skills; ability to work with minimal supervision required. Must be able to work in a fast-past demanding environment.

  • Must be able to consistently demonstrate highly organized personal and project-related work skills.

  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office. Expert experience with tools that enable queries/analysis, like MS Access, SQL, Excel, CRM solutions or Tableau.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Partners with Director, Direct Marketing Strategy to support the development and execution of sales and retention strategies for various lines of business. Serve as a liaison between Direct Marketing and other teams to define and support operational implications of direct marketing strategies.

  • Works closely with internal team to report on the success of direct marketing campaigns, as well as leads generated from various sources or to manage direct marketing timelines and deliverables. Leverages tools like MS Dynamics CRM, Tableau, Facets and MS Access to analyze and summarize key performance indicators. Develop presentations to summarize results and develop recommendations.

  • Pull data files to support direct marketing tactics and to facilitate marketing modeling efforts.

  • Works closely with third party vendors in forecasting B2C sales.

  • Manages processes with a high-level of complexity. Ability to navigate and negotiate with partners both internally and externally.
