POSITION PURPOSE

Plans, installs, monitors and maintains the integrity, security, availability, reliability and performance of all primary and auxiliary technical architecture for Windows configuration and management and Citrix configuration and management; provides an advanced level of technical support and timely assistance to clients of computerized systems; acquires, evaluates, tests and recommends new computerized system products across system platforms. Accountable for complying with all laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities.

Necessary Contacts: Gathers information on assigned problems and consults with others in the department.

Frequent contact with specialists in other departments.

Must be able to effectively present opportunities representing the most efficient use of available resources.

Occasional attendance at technical conferences.

Occasional interaction with product vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field required. Four years related experience or two years of college and two years of experience can be used in lieu of a degree.

Work Experience

  • 4 years related work experience, extensive professional systems or programming background in three or more of the following areas of specialty as specified:

  • Edifecs Smart Trading Suite

  • Microsoft BizTalk Server

  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

  • Informatica PowerCenter

  • Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server OS

  • Microsoft Active Directory (On-premises and Azure)

  • Microsoft 365 Administration (Office, Teams, OneDrive, etc.)

  • Hypervisors (VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSphere, Hyper-V, XenServer)

  • Automation and orchestration technology (Ansible, VMware vRealize Automation, etc.)

  • Application and system troubleshooting ability

  • Network/server/telecommunications systems software

  • Information security systems software

  • Large system design and implementation for 2000 or more users

  • Has demonstrated communication and negotiation skills in order to interact with site peers, local management and executives on technical issues on project design and planning

  • Has demonstrated success in assignments in technical field of specialization

  • Requires good technical knowledge at a structural level across a broad range of IT disciplines including current applications development methodology/languages, project management and service capabilities with experience in some or all of the additional disciplines of database administration, networking, operational capabilities, server platforms, messaging, middleware, security and communications

  • Good communication skills to coordinate internal education and interaction with internal areas concerning problem status. Has used current system software management technology and tools

Decisions influence operations outside department - especially applications areas. Recommends alternatives and priorities. Participates in project planning. Performs with some technical direction. Estimates and plans own work ensuring objectives, schedules and cost of assigned segment of project are met.

  • ANALYTICAL & CREATIVE: Demonstrated ability to analyze system specs, requirements, problem reports, system exposures and may be called upon to develop operator education programs. Analyzes and develops detailed specifications to achieve optimum program and/or system performance within time and cost restraints. Keeps current with improvements in programming/analysis techniques and applies as appropriate. Generates ideas for improving work products

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Technical Design:Under general direction, plans, researches, engineers, analyzes, estimates, determines options, recommends, installs, tests, schedules, implements, administers, documents, monitors, tunes performance and maintains system applications, auxiliary and standalone technical design as related to assigned areas of specialty to ensure the integrity, security, availability, reliability and performance of corporate computerized systems to meet client needs and expectations.

  • Tactical Planning:Evaluates and recommends new system products in order to ensure that the IT Department acquires the most efficient, cost effective, and appropriate technology.

  • Teamwork and Leadership:Provides technical advice for assigned clients et client needs and expectations.

  • Goals and Objectives:Understands Departmental and Information Technology Goals and Objectives and delivers work products to contribute to those goals.
