The Systems Configuration Engineer is primarily responsible for the implementation of solutions which result in efficient, accurate, and quality configuration of the company’s core and integrated systems. Work cross-functionally across divisions facilitating the decision-making process by identifying, selecting, and modeling solutions to meet needs, goals, and metrics. This role is responsible for the mid-level complexity of the design, build, documentation, and testing in addition to ensuring the timely configuration and implementation of selected solutions.

This job reports to: Departmental Leadership
Necessary Contacts: All levels of management including senior management, departmental management, team members, and vendors.
Bachelor's in Computer Science, ISDS, Business Management or related field is required
Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
2 years of application development, programming, or configuration is required
2 years of database technologies experience, such as SQL, is required
Experience can run concurrently
Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in business/systems analysis for software systems including requirements gathering and development of formal business, process, and system requirements is required
Strong proficiency in Excel and applications such as MS SharePoint, Office 365 and/or Teams is preferred
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve logical problems is required
Must be able to work as an individual contributor as well as a member of a collaborative team
Demonstrated proficiency in quality assurance of software systems including development and execution of detailed test cases and proper process controls required to ensure quality of configuration of the core software systems
Basic knowledge and experience in healthcare industry is preferred
Business analysis, Six Sigma or other process improvement experience is preferred
Experience in training junior resources is preferred

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Act as a liaison between the department and business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems.
Performs systematic analysis and determination of business requirements to address specific business needs.
Analyzes business needs to determine optimal means of meeting those goals.
Translation of basic business needs into formal business, process, and system requirements.
Represents team in project meetings for corporate or departmental projects documenting business requirements and clearly communicating them back to the team and leadership.
Provides support for software configuration testing and quality assurance to ensure successful implementation of software configuration
Develops test plans.
Develops and executes unit testing via SQL queries or other tools ensuring the quality of configuration.
Performs analysis of testing results.
Resolves configuration defects.
Ensures proper controls are established and maintained over test and production systems to ensure quality of system configuration and processing.
Responsible for accurate and quality configuration of the company’s core and integrated systems.
Modifies or implements new configurations to computer systems and software packages.
Develops SQL queries to extract and analyze data to determine required configuration changes.
Recommends and implements configuration changes to improve the overall efficiency of systems processing.
Utilizes database and custom tools to assist with rapid implementation of configuration.
Provides technical leadership to the team and assist management.
Provides configuration mentoring of associates, engineers, and analysts.
Manages the work inventory of a small team of resources supporting day-to-day functions.
