POSITION PURPOSE

This position will play a pivotal part in enrolling new members, generating leads through grassroots events and community partnerships, and nurturing leads through conversion. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and a proven track record of successful field sales / grassroots marketing performance.

NATURE AND SCOPE

  • This role does not manage people.

  • This role reports to this job: Vice President, Medicare Advantage & Medicare Supplement Plan Sales

  • Necessary Contacts: Medicare Advantage customers and all levels of internal BCBSLA personnel as needed to efficiently serve the customer.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's Marketing, Business or related field is required.

  • Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Work Experience

  • 1 year of marketing and/or sales experience is

Skills and Abilities

  • Able to chair meetings and communicate benefits and develop computerized presentations.

  • Must be able to travel daily in the local area and statewide on occasion.

Licenses and Certifications

  • A valid state insurance license is upon hire required.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Primary role is to act as an exclusive agent representing Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana to present the benefits of Medicare Advantage insurance policies.

  • Identify and engage seniors through grassroots marketing and community partnerships to generate new prospective members.

  • Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within the senior healthcare market adjusting sales strategies and identify new growth avenues.

  • Provide regular updates to leadership on sales activities, lead funnel management, and market insights to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.

  • Collaborate closely with internal and cross-functional teams to align sales strategies.

  • Using knowledge of the Medicare product portfolio to accurately assess the distinct needs of different prospects, explain the differences between various products, and assist the prospect member in selecting a product that best meets their unique needs.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.

  • Ability to work regularly scheduled hours of operation including training period, with the flexibility to adjust daily schedule, and work over-time and /or weekends, as needed.

  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete the Sales Training classes and demonstrate proficiency of the material.
