Benefits
Employees regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week are eligible for a comprehensive benefit package.
Health – Louisiana Blue offers several plan options depending on the needs of employees and their families. The company provides a significant subsidy toward the insurance premium cost for employees and their families.
Pre-Tax Savings Accounts
- Health Savings Account (HSA) -The high deductible plan options are paired with an HSA with an employer contribution.
- Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) – The company also offers a Healthcare FSA, Limited Dental and Vision FSA and a Dependent Care FSA.
Dental and Vision – Louisiana Blue offers a comprehensive dental plan with orthodontic coverage. The vision plan provides coverage for eye exams, glasses and contact lenses.
Life - Louisiana Blue provides basic term life insurance at no cost. Employees may purchase additional supplemental life coverage for themselves and their dependents.
Disability – The company provides short-term and long-term disability insurance at no cost.
The retirement programs provide an easy and effective way for eligible employees to fund their personal retirement savings with their own contributions through a traditional and Roth 401(k) plans with matching funds from Louisiana Blue. The company also contributes up to 7% of an employee’s eligible base pay to the 401(k) through the Retirement Plus Program. This contribution is point based on an eligible employee’s age and years of service.

Paid Time Off (PTO) – Louisiana Blue wants employees to have a balanced home and work life. Time away from work can help employees maintain this balance. PTO can be used for vacation, sick leave, and to care for ill family members. All regular full-time and part-time benefit-eligible employees begin to accrue PTO and are eligible for PTO on date of hire.

Parental Leave – Louisiana Blue provides paid parental leave to bond with a new child for the birth of a child or the placement of a child through surrogacy, adoption or foster care.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - The EAP provides at no cost, tools and resources designed to help employees and their immediate family members overcome life challenges that can impact health, family life and/or job performance. Employees and their immediate family members are eligible for the EAP on date of hire
Team Blue - Louisiana Blue is committed to supporting organizations, that contribute to the health and vitality of the communities where we live and work. This support is provided through efforts to encourage and recognize employees who bring leadership to community service organizations through their volunteer efforts. Louisiana Blue believes that community service is also an opportunity for employees to exercise or develop skills and talents which may not be utilized in their jobs. The Team Blue Volunteer Program allows eligible employees to take time off during a work day to participate in an approved volunteer activity, encourages community involvement, may take many different forms and occurs at various organizations, and enables eligible employees to volunteer at least one (1) hour per month, up to a maximum of 16 hours per year, during normal business hours at a qualifying organization.
